Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, panoramic city tour; we will contemplate its medieval origins like the Arab fortress touring the Morería Quarter, characterized by the antiquity of its buildings and the flavors of its taverns; we will walk through the Madrid of the Austrias with Felipe II and his Renaissance and Baroque buildings in Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and Plaza de la Villa; we will see the Madrid of the Bourbons and the urban layout of Carlos III, the Royal Palace, the Fountain of Cibeles, Neptune Fountain, and the Puerta de Alcalá; we will admire the works of the 19th century like the elegant Plaza de Oriente and the Prado Museum; we will get to know contemporary Madrid with avenues like Gran Vía, Paseo de la Castellana, Barrio de Salamanca, Parque del Oeste, Ciudad Universitaria, commercial and financial areas of Modern Madrid, and the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. MADRID - SALAMANCA - PORTO
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Salamanca. Free time in this university city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with great architectural and artistic richness, and departure towards the Portuguese border until reaching Porto. Accommodation at the hotel.
PORTO
Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic tour of Porto, considered a World Heritage Site, where we will contemplate the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange building, and the Church of Santa Clara. Then enjoy a different perspective of the city along the Douro River on a cruise and discover the historical heritage by visiting a renowned Port Wine cellar with wine tasting included. PORTO - COIMBRA - FATIMA
Breakfast. Departure to Coimbra, city home to one of the oldest universities in Europe and cradle of Fado. Free time. Continuation to Fátima. Center of the Christian Faith and Sanctuary of World Pilgrimage with its impressive Basilica and the Cova da Iria, where the Virgin Mary appeared. The Chapel of Apparitions, heart of the sanctuary, with the tombs of the three little shepherds, Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. In the evening, possibility to attend the candlelight procession. FATIMA - BATALHA - NAZARE - ALCOBACA - LISBON
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the Monastery of Batalha, a masterpiece of Gothic and Manueline style considered a World Heritage Site. We continue to the picturesque fishing village of Nazaré. Free time and continuation to Alcobaça, with its Gothic church and Cistercian monastery, dating back to the 12th century, and then Lisbon. Accommodation at the hotel. Optional traditional dinner with Fado show (typical Portuguese folklore).
LISBON
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, city tour, formerly known as Olissipo, through its main squares and avenues, Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery (exterior), Monument to the Discoveries... Afternoon free to discover the nostalgic corners of this city, such as Alfama District, or take the optional excursion to Sintra and Cascais (World Heritage Site). Accommodation at the hotel.
LISBON - CACERES - CORDOBA
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Cáceres, a World Heritage City, an architectural mix of Romanesque, Islamic, Gothic, and Italian Renaissance. We will walk through its old town, Medieval Quarter, and its Main Square. Continuation south towards Córdoba, once the capital of the Caliphate. Accommodation at the hotel.
CORDOBA - SEVILLA
Breakfas at the hotel. Visit the impressive Mosque/Cathedral that will relax our minds and spirits to stroll through the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter. Then, after a short journey of about two hours, arrival in Seville. Accommodation at the hotel.
SEVILLA
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, monumental and panoramic visit of the city, including entrance to the Cathedral, the second largest in the Catholic world after St. Peter's in Rome. Typical Santa Cruz Quarter, natural setting of "Carmen" as well as the place where the myth of "Don Juan" developed. Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de España. Free afternoon to discover different perspectives and specific flavors of this lively city full of light. Accommodation at the hotel. Optional Flamenco show visit.
SEVILLA- GRANADA
Breakfast at the hotel and departure eastwards along the Caliphate Route towards the heart of Andalusia, observing countless olive trees. Arrival in Granada and its incredible and astonishing monumental environment, the last bastion of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada until 1492. Visit the world-famous Alhambra complex and the Generalife Gardens, fountains, gardens, courtyards that with their views and sounds have inspired authors like W. Irving in his "Tales of the Alhambra". Accommodation at the hotel. Optionally, Flamenco show in the evening.
GRANADA - VALENCIA
After breakfast at the hotel, departure to Alicante, the second-largest city in the Valencian Community, to reach Valencia, one of the main capitals of the Mediterranean coast with its modern architectural complex of Arts and Sciences consisting of six buildings: Hemisfèric, Umbracle, Museum of Sciences, Oceanogràfic, Palau de les Arts, and Ágora. Valencia is also the birthplace of the internationally known "Paella". Accommodation at the hotel.
VALENCIA - BARCELONA
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit this luminous city, contemplating its old town and then passing through the old Turia Riverbed and visiting the most avant-garde complex, the City of Arts and Sciences, to admire its iconic buildings from the outside. In the afternoon, departure northward along the Mediterranean coast towards Catalonia via Tarragona, the Roman Tarraco. Arrival in Barcelona, the main city of the Mediterranean and birthplace of the famous architect Antonio Gaudí, symbol of Catalan Modernism. Accommodation at the hotel.
BARCELONA
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit the city known worldwide for its 1992 Olympic Games, tour the main avenues with its impressive Gaudí modernist buildings and contemplate its most emblematic works: Casa Milá, La Pedrera, and Casa Batlló, declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Montjuic Park, with spectacular views of both the city and the port, the Olympic Ring, and the Columbus Monument. BARCELONA – ZARAGOZA – MADRID
After breakfast at the hotel, departure southwest through an industrial and agricultural area with certain importance in Europe. Arrival in Zaragoza, capital of Aragon, located on the banks of the Ebro River, which is the most voluminous in the Iberian Peninsula. Zaragoza, known as Caesar Augusta during the Roman period, played a very important role in Spanish history. Free time to visit the impressive architecture of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar.
